As a headshot photographer in Birmingham, I recently worked with WT Partnership to create a set of natural, professional team portraits designed for real business use.

The aim of the shoot was to move away from overly staged or identical headshots, and instead create a set of images that felt warm, individual, and reflective of each person, while still maintaining a consistent, professional look across the team.

The final images were used across LinkedIn profiles, editorial features, company website profiles and wider marketing materials, so it was important that they felt both polished and approachable.

A natural approach to corporate headshots in Birmingham

For this session, we photographed outdoors around Colmore Row in Birmingham, just a short walk from the WT Partnership offices.

Using natural light and carefully chosen city-centre backdrops allowed us to create corporate headshots in Birmingham that feel modern, relaxed and professional, without the need for a full studio setup.

This approach works particularly well for businesses who want their team photography to feel more approachable, while still maintaining a strong, credible visual identity.

Headshots that feel consistent, but not identical

One of the key challenges with team headshots is balancing consistency with individuality. Rather than placing everyone in the same position with the same pose, I introduced small variations in:

  • Background and location

  • Body position and framing

  • Expression and energy

At the same time, the overall look, colour tone, lighting and composition were kept consistent. This ensures the final set works as a cohesive collection, while still allowing each person to come across naturally.

Designed for LinkedIn, editorial and marketing use

These images were created to work across multiple platforms, not just as simple profile pictures.

The portraits needed to function as:

  • LinkedIn headshots

  • Website team profiles

  • Editorial portraits alongside written content

  • Marketing and brand imagery

This is where business portraits in Birmingham often differ from more traditional portrait photography. The focus is not just on creating a strong individual image, but on producing a set of images that support how a business presents itself publicly.

Why Colmore Row works so well for Birmingham headshots

Colmore Row is one of the best locations in Birmingham for professional headshots.

It offers:

  • Clean architectural backgrounds

  • Soft, flattering natural light

  • A strong business-focused city setting

  • Enough variation to avoid repetition

It also keeps the process efficient, allowing teams to step out from the office, be photographed quickly, and return to work without disruption.

What this shoot demonstrates is how corporate headshots in Birmingham can feel both professional and personal at the same time.

  • Natural and approachable

  • Suitable for real business use

  • Designed for multiple platforms

For businesses updating their website, refreshing LinkedIn profiles, or creating a more cohesive brand presence, this kind of headshot session provides a simple and effective solution.
